Structure Fire - Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church

At 10AM this morning, Crestview was dispatched to the area of Martin Luther King Jr Blvd & McDonald Street for reports of smoke coming from the roof of a structure.

CFD units arrived on scene - reporting a working fire in a church at the intersection. After entry was gained to the church, a fire in the sanctuary was found as crews worked to extinguish the fire. Approximately 30 minutes into the incident, the fire was declared knocked down and all searches for occupants were negative.

1 firefighter on scene was transported to NOMC for possible smoke inhalation but has been released as of this report

This incident has been turned over to the Florida State Fire Marshall’s Office for further investigation. Cause of the fire has not been determined at this point.
