📢 COMMUNITY NOTICE: QUARRY BLASTING TOMORROW

Please be advised that Wingra will be conducting blasting operations at the quarry off KP tomorrow, Friday, October 23, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

We wanted to give the community a heads-up so everyone is aware of the scheduled activity.

After School week in review! This week's highlights include tag (LOTS of tag), football, imaginative play, and decorating gourds from Enchanted Valley Acres. Read the comments for more information on what is going on.

We took advantage of the beautiful weather we had on Monday during our Full Day Camp! The campers had a nature walk on the Ice Age trail, complete with journey sticks they made, and a stop at Legion Park on the way back to The Club. This may have been the first time no one argued about quiet time after lunch - they were ready for it! Our afternoon was filled with a trip to Glacial Valley Park, then choice time back at The Club.

One thing I really love about Full Day Camp is that anyone who is off school that day can attend - not just kids from Park Elementary. We frequently have kids who went to preschool or 4K together sign up for Full Day Camps so they can spend extra time together. Sometimes friendships form when the kids meet each other at Full Day Camp, which makes them extra excited to come every month. And sometimes kids not in the program and their caregivers come to Glacial Valley Park because they know we'll be there and their children can play together.

On behalf of the Cross Plains Parks & Recreation Department, we wanted to give a big THANK YOU to Kyle Pape and everyone who attended, supported, and donated to the Hicks and Homies Event on August 1st.

Kyle has done a wonderful job expanding this community event through Pickleball, Volleyball, and Co****le tournaments at Baer Park. With the group's efforts this summer, they have graciously decided to donate $3000.00 from their event to the Cross Plains Parks & Recreation Department.

This donation will be used toward ecological restoration work within the Village.

We have two new programs offered through Cross Plains Rec this fall and winter - Pickleball Skills and Drills and Big Ten Co-Ed Volleyball league teams!

We are also once again offering Basketball Skills and Drills and Big 10 Basketball league teams.

Thank you to the Wellness team at the Middleton Cross Plains Area School District for organizing a great event at Park Elementary School on Saturday! We were there helping people make journey sticks, and many people used them on the Ice Age Trail hike lead by staff and volunteers from the Ice Age Trail Alliance. It was great to talk with old friends and meet new ones, including Monty the Mammoth.
