New state park drop! McDonald Farm in Sale Creek is officially Angel’s Hollow State Park.

Sitting right next door to the CT corridor, I see expanded regional trail connectivity in our future!

NEW STATE PARK: Tennessee's newest state park, named Angel’s Hollow, will encompass about 1,305 acres of the McDonald Farm transferred from Hamilton County to the state.

📍 Bird Mountain | Morgan County

A little machine work goes a long way. Our machine crew has been hard at work on Bird Mountain, transforming this section of trail one bucket at a time.

Check out the before and after photos to see the progress. The mini excavator may be small, but it's making a big impact as we build sustainable trail for future hikers.

🥾 A little dirt can make a big difference.

Before and after from the Audubon section of the Cumberland Trail. What started as a flagged route is now a sustainable trail built to last.

A win for conservation and the Cumberland Trail!

The protection of 350 acres at Devil's Racetrack preserves one of the Cumberland Plateau's most unique geologic features while helping advance the vision of a completed Cumberland Trail. We're grateful to the many partners, advocates, and supporters whose persistence made this possible.

Missed our last Trail Crew hiring round? Here's another opportunity to serve the Cumberland Trail. Our partners at Southeast Conservation Corps are recruiting young adults to help build trail this winter. Participants receive a weekly living allowance, food and transportation while in the field, and an AmeriCorps Education Award that can help pay for college. Check out the opportunity below!

The seasons are changing, but the trail keeps moving forward.

A light blanket of leaves marks the arrival of fall on this newly completed stretch of the Cumberland Trail. Every season offers something different, and some of the best hiking days of the year are just around the corner!

Happy National Public Lands Day! 🌲💚

We had an awesome time hanging out at REI Chattanooga today! Huge thanks to our friends at for inviting us to set up a table, talk all things trail, and connect with our outdoor community.

And yes... Smokey Bear stopped by to say hello too! (To say I was starstruck would be a major understatement 🐻✨)

Whether you're hitting the trail this weekend or planning your next adventure, thank you for supporting the Cumberland Trail and caring for our public lands!
