Please join us in welcoming Donald London, our newest Deputy Assessor, to the Acadia Parish Assessor’s Office! 👋

A Crowley native, Donald graduated from McNeese State University in 2025 with a bachelor’s degree in political science and a minor in history. Outside of work, he enjoys writing short stories and poetry, playing basketball, working with computers, learning about history, and participating in community activities.

Donald has already appreciated the warm welcome and support from his new coworkers, and we’re excited to have him on our team. Welcome, Donald!

Fair Market Value is an important part of understanding your property assessment.

Louisiana Revised Statute 47:2321 defines it as:
“Fair Market Value is the price for property which would be agreed upon between a willing and informed buyer and a willing and informed seller under the usual and ordinary circumstances; it shall be the highest price estimated in terms of money which property will bring if exposed for sale on the open market with reasonable time allowed to find a purchaser who is buying with knowledge of all the uses and purposes to which the property is best adapted and for which it can be legally used.”

Did you know the very first Rice Festival, originally called the National Rice Festival, was held right here in Crowley in October 1937? 🌾 A tradition that started almost 90 years ago is still bringing our community together today!
