Vehicle Fire response:

On October 11th at approximately 0122 hours, A-Shift responded to a reported vehicle fire in the Home Depot parking lot.

Truck 1 and Squad 1 arrived on scene and located a box truck on fire, with flames extending into the wooded area along US 19. Citrus County Sheriff's Office deputies used a fire extinguisher on the fire prior to our arrival. Crews quickly extinguished the fire and conducted overhaul operations to ensure the scene was safe.

The cause of the fire was determined to be the generator mounted on the rear of the box truck.

Staffing makes the difference..
