Sheriff Gentry and members of the Sheriff’s Office appreciate the opportunity to connect with our senior citizens, show our appreciation, and remind them that they remain an important part of the Cullman County community.

Environmental Deputy Ron Wood helps keep Cullman County clean by collecting an estimated 50,000 to 70,000 pounds of roadside litter annually across approximately 100 miles of roadway.

The Cullman County Sheriff’s Office is proud to earn the State of Alabama’s PALS (People Against a Littered State) Award each year for its ongoing commitment to litter prevention.

The program also gives back locally. Recyclable materials collected are sold, and the proceeds are donated to nonprofit organizations throughout Cullman County.

Sheriff Matt Gentry said, “Deputy Wood’s dedication makes a real difference in our community. His work keeps our roadways clean, protects our environment, and helps support local nonprofits. We’re proud of this program and the positive impact it has on Cullman County.”

The Cullman County Sheriff’s Office was honored to participate in tonight’s Little Pink Dress Dinner. This is an annual fundraiser benefiting Cullman County Bosom Buddies and supporting local women and families impacted by breast cancer. We enjoyed a friendly competition with the county verses city fundraising challenge. Sheriff Matt Gentry and the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office came out on top this year.

Sheriff Matt Gentry stated, “Events like the Little Pink Dress Dinner remind us of the strength of our community and the importance of supporting those facing difficult battles. We are proud to stand with Cullman County Bosom Buddies and the incredible work they do.”

Thank you to the organizers, volunteers, sponsors, and everyone who helped make tonight’s event a success. We are proud to support Cullman County Bosom Buddies and their mission.

📚 There’s nothing better than spending time with the kids in our community!

Sheriff Matt Gentry recently had the opportunity to visit Mrs. Collins’ 2nd-grade classroom at Vinemont Elementary. He read a book with the students and spent time talking, laughing, and connecting with them.

These are the moments that matter and remind us why building positive relationships with our young people is so important.

Sheriff Gentry shared that at the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office, we want our children to know that their Sheriff and our deputies are people they can trust, talk to, and turn to when they need us.

We are proud of our kids, proud of our community, and thankful for every opportunity to be a part of their lives. 🇺🇸📚

Earlier today, Sheriff Matt Gentry had the privilege of speaking with the outstanding Cross Country Team at Wallace State Community College.

This annual tradition is always a highlight—a chance to connect with young athletes who demonstrate dedication, discipline, and determination both on and off the course.

Thank you to Wallace State and these student-athletes for the warm welcome and inspiring conversation. We’re proud of you and wish you continued success this season and beyond!

🇺🇸 NEVER FORGET — SEPTEMBER 11, 2001

Today, we remember the nearly 3,000 innocent lives lost on September 11, 2001, including more than 400 first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice. We honor the firefighters, law enforcement officers, EMS personnel, military members, and citizens who ran toward danger, as well as the families and survivors forever changed by that day.

Sheriff Matt Gentry and the men and women of the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office will never forget their courage, sacrifice, and service.

“Twenty-five years later, we remain united in honoring those who placed duty, honor, and country above their own safety. Their sacrifice lives on in our nation, and we proudly carry their legacy forward by protecting our communities, upholding the Constitution, and defending freedom. May God bless the fallen, their families, our first responders and service members, and the United States of America.”

— Sheriff Matt Gentry
