Estimating with Goldfish!

Our first graders had so much fun practicing estimation with this hands on activity! Mrs. Daniels challenged the students to estimate how many goldfish would fit inside the penguin’s belly. They made their estimates, counted the goldfish to check their thinking, and talked about how close their estimates were to the actual number.

It was wonderful to see their excitement and enthusiasm as they practiced an important math skill in such a fun and engaging way! And, of course, the best part was getting to enjoy the goldfish at the end of the lesson!

Our library is holding a special contest to honor the brave men and women who have served in the U.S. military. Students in grades 3-5 are invited to create a poster or writing piece and students in grades K-2 are invited to make a thank-you card showing what veterans mean to them.

Entries are due by October 30th!
Please follow the directions on the flyer and contact Mrs. Ward with any questions.

Buddy reading in action! 📚❤️
Recently, Ms. Prentice’s 3rd graders spent time reading with our Kindergarten students, while our 5th graders shared stories with second grade. These special reading partnerships give our younger students extra opportunities to enjoy books while allowing our older students to practice leadership, confidence, and kindness.
We’re proud to see our students learning from—and inspiring—one another! 🌟
