proudly announces the appointment of Alan Cominsky as the Department’s Fire Chief.

Mayor Carlos A. Gimenez made the official appointment yesterday, after Chief Cominsky has been serving the Department as the Interim Fire Chief for the past five months.

Since joining MDFR in 1995, Fire Chief Cominsky has risen through the ranks. He is an accomplished leader, offering over 25 years of progressive experience analyzing and facilitating practices and procedures designed to improve operational safety, economic feasibility and program effectiveness for a large metropolitan fire rescue and emergency response agency.

His experience and leadership will guide MDFR in continuing to provide exceptional service in Miami-Dade County.

The Brothers and Sisters of Firehouse 34 are keeping the L.A. firefighters and families in their thoughts and prayers.

Happy Birthday to our Station Captain Jose Alzola. He's done a great job keeping this bunch of clowns in line. Hope he gets the bid. (no offense to any other bidders :)
