Yesterday, I had the privilege of representing The Living Legacy Center at the Champions of Freedom Luncheon at the Ballroom at Tanglewilde in Houston, TX — and my heart is full.

🌟 What a fantastic day at the Cy-Fair Chamber of Commerce Fall Business Expo & Luncheon last week!

The Living Legacy Center is so grateful to the Cy-Fair Houston Chamber of Commerce for hosting such a vibrant and well-attended event. The energy in the room was electric, and the turnout was a true testament to the strength of our Cy-Fair business community.

A huge shoutout to all the incredible Business Partners who showcased their services and connected with fellow leaders—you made the Expo a dynamic hub of opportunity and collaboration!

It was an honor to hear Dr. Valerie Jones, President of Lone Star College–CyFair, deliver a powerful State of the College address. Her insights into workforce development and student impact reaffirm the vital role Lone Star plays in shaping our region’s future.

Special thanks to our Luncheon Sponsor, Houston Methodist Cypress Hospital, for your continued investment in our community—and to HCA Houston Healthcare North Cypress for sponsoring our First Responder recognition. We’re proud to stand with Harris County Constable Precinct 4, in gratitude for your service.

On a personal note, I thoroughly enjoyed finally meeting Tom Jackson’s lovely wife, Marie. It was such a joy to sit together at the head table and share in the celebration—what a wonderful addition to our community!

🌧️🌞 Rain or shine, our volunteers SHOW UP—and this Saturday was no exception!

A huge thank you to everyone who came out to support Oasis Gardens of the Living Legacy Center with Cycreek High School and Cy-Springs High School. Your hard work, muddy boots, and bright spirits made a beautiful impact. From pulling weeds to planting hope, your dedication is what keeps our garden—and our mission—growing strong.

We’re so grateful for each of you who braved the weather to nurture this space of healing and connection.

It’s with heavy hearts that we share the news that A Taste of Cy-Fair, benefiting Cy-Hope, has been canceled for today due to forecasted dangerous thunderstorms. The safety of our community—our guests, volunteers, vendors, and sponsors—will always come first.

We are incredibly grateful for the outpouring of support we’ve received from everyone involved. This event is built on community, compassion, and giving back—and your unwavering commitment to Cy-Hope’s mission reminds us what makes Cy-Fair so special. ❤️
