🕯️ Domestic Violence Awareness Month

Members of the Dade City Police Department attended Sunrise of Pasco’s Candlelight Vigil at Polly Touchton Park last night in recognition of Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Community members and supporters gathered to honor survivors of domestic violence, remember those whose lives have been lost, and stand together in support of those impacted by domestic violence.

💜 We stand with survivors, honor the lives lost, and reaffirm our commitment to raising awareness, supporting those in need, and working toward a future free from domestic violence.

Residents may notice a low-flying helicopter in the area during daytime hours. Pasco County Mosquito Control is scheduled to conduct mosquito control treatments in our area.

There is no need for alarm if you see the helicopter flying at a low altitude. Thank you for your understanding as these treatments help protect our community!

🎉 Celebrating a Lifetime of Service and Dedication to Our Community! 🎉

The Dade City Police Department is proud to recognize two remarkable women who have made a lasting impact on our community!

At a recent City Commission meeting, Chief Ann Starling joined city officials in honoring Margarita Romo on her 90th birthday and for her decades of service to the community. ❤️

Margarita is the founder of Farmworkers Self-Help, a Dade City nonprofit organization that has spent more than four decades providing education, advocacy, and support to migrant farmworkers and immigrant families. Her dedication, compassion, and commitment to helping others have made a meaningful difference in the lives of countless individuals and families throughout our community. We congratulate Margarita on this incredible milestone and thank her for her lasting legacy of service!

👏 We also celebrate Patricia Deleo for 25 years of dedicated service as a City of Dade City crossing guard!

As Patricia officially retires, we recognize a remarkable 25-year career spent helping keep generations of children safe as they traveled to and from school. Her friendly presence, dedication, and commitment to our youngest community members have made her an important part of countless families’ daily routines.

Patricia, thank you for a quarter century of service, care, and dedication to the children and families of Dade City. We wish you a wonderful and well-deserved retirement! 💙

Please join us in congratulating Margarita Romo on her 90th birthday and thanking both of these extraordinary women for their contributions to our community. Their service reminds us that making a difference isn’t just about what we do—it’s about the lives we touch along the way.

The Pasco County Commission on Human Trafficking is preparing for its 2nd Annual Red Sand Awareness Event, scheduled for January 2027. The Red Sand Project is a symbolic, hands-on activity where participants fill sidewalk cracks with red sand to represent victims who fall through the cracks of our systems.

This event offers an important opportunity for the community to come together, raise awareness about human trafficking, and highlight the experiences of individuals who are vulnerable to exploitation. Additional details, including the event schedule, activities, and opportunities to participate, will be available before the holiday season. Please help spread the word!
