In 1976 a small group of local residents including Peggy and Palmer Petersons, Dorman and June Dennis, Guy Slayden, Budd Watts, and Carmen & Harry Brown started working on raising funds for Pace’s Point. This small group of people grew to about 100 members and Pace’s Point Fire & Rescue was born. The members accumulated $10,000.00

🚨 EXCITING NEWS FOR PACE’S POINT! 🚨

We are extremely proud to be a part of this regional effort alongside Dadeville Fire Department, Eagle Creek Volunteer Fire Department, and StillWaters Volunteer Fire & Rescue!

This $940,000 Assistance to Firefighters Grant is a huge investment in firefighter safety and will provide much-needed new SCBA equipment for all four departments.

We want to thank everyone who played a role in making this possible, especially our partnering departments, DH Grants, our local leaders, and the communities that continue to stand behind us.

For a volunteer fire department, opportunities like this are HUGE. We’re excited for what this means for our firefighters and our ability to continue safely serving our community.

🚒 Four Departments. One Mission. One Community.

Proudly Serving Tallapoosa County & Lake Martin. ❤️

🚨 BIG NEWS FOR OUR FIRE SERVICE COMMUNITY! 🚨

The Dadeville Fire Department, Eagle Creek Volunteer Fire Department, Paces Point Volunteer Fire Department, and StillWaters Volunteer Fire & Rescue are proud to announce that our departments have been awarded a regional Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) totaling $940,000.00 for SCBA equipment!

This grant represents a tremendous investment in the safety of the firefighters who serve our communities every day. The new SCBA equipment will help ensure our firefighters have the modern, reliable respiratory protection they need when answering calls and entering hazardous environments.

This accomplishment would not have been possible without the hard work, dedication, and support of many people and organizations.

We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to:

🇺🇸 The Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) Program
🤝 DH Grants for their expertise and assistance throughout the grant process
🏛️ Our elected officials and community dignitaries for their continued support of our fire departments and the communities we serve
🚒 The members of Dadeville Fire Department, Eagle Creek VFD, Paces Point VFD, and StillWaters VF&R who helped make this regional effort possible
❤️ And most importantly, our leaders and our communities, for continuing to support the men and women who serve and the ones who volunteer.

Regional cooperation like this demonstrates what can be accomplished when fire departments come together with a common goal: protecting our firefighters and providing the best possible service to our communities.

This $940,000 award is more than just new equipment — it is an investment in the safety of our firefighters and the future of our departments.

From all of us at Dadeville Fire Department, Eagle Creek VFD, Paces Point VFD, and StillWaters VF&R — THANK YOU!

🔥 Four Departments. Mission. Community. 🔥

As we celebrate our nation’s freedom with family, friends, fireworks, and time on the water, let’s make safety a priority.

🎆 Firework Safety
• Always have a bucket of water, water hose, or fire extinguisher nearby.
• Only use fireworks in a clear, open area away from homes, vehicles, and dry grass.
• Never allow children to handle or light fireworks without adult supervision.
• Never relight a firework that doesn’t ignite.
• Soak used fireworks in water before throwing them away.

🚤 Boating Safety
• Wear an appropriate life jacket at all times.
• Never operate a boat while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
• Check your boat and safety equipment before leaving the dock.
• Operate at a safe speed and be aware of your surroundings.
• Let someone know your float plan and expected return time.

🚒 If an emergency happens, call 911 immediately.

From all of us at Paces Point Fire & Rescue, we wish you and your family a safe, fun, and memorable Independence Day. Thank you for helping us keep Tallapoosa County & Lake Martin safe this holiday.

Have a safe and Happy 4th of July! 🇺🇸🎆🚤

On Election Day, we are asking everyone to please do not park in front of the apparatus bay doors. These areas must stay clear at all times so our trucks can safely and quickly respond when the tones drop. Even a vehicle parked there for a short time can delay emergency response. We also ask that space beside the building be left open for our volunteers. If a 911 call comes in, our members respond to the station in their personal vehicles before getting on the apparatus. Having that space available allows them to park quickly and get the trucks out the door without delay.

We appreciate everyone’s cooperation and understanding.

The latest Alabama Drought Monitor, dated April 21st, continues to show severe drought conditions across much of our area. While rain is in the forecast, expected amounts will do very little to improve current drought conditions. Because of this, we continue to ask everyone to please refrain from any outdoor burning, even after the rain until we receive a significant amount of rainfall. Conditions remain favorable for fire spread, and even small burns can quickly get out of control.

We appreciate everyone’s cooperation in helping keep our community safe.

State wide fire alert remains in effect for the state with HIGH/VERY HIGH Fire danger today. Remember any outdoor burning is prohibited until further notice.

📢STATEWIDE FIRE ALERT REMAINS IN EFFECT📢

Statewide Fire Danger is HIGH today!
The Northern half of the state is classified as a High Fire Danger, while the Southern half has increased to a Very High Fire Danger classification.

We continue to urge everyone to avoid outdoor burning as we remain in drought conditions.

For clarity - this is not a ban on outdoor burning. This is a public notice to increase awareness of the drought conditions. As always, if you are burning over a .25 of an acre, you must obtain a burn permit from AFC's dispatch center.

Extrication Training

On Monday, 04/13/2026, Paces Point Volunteer Fire & Rescue conducted extrication training with Camp Hill Volunteer Fire Department. While our departments may not run many calls together, training side by side gives us the opportunity to share knowledge, sharpen our skills, and strengthen our ability to work onscene. Gaining access to a patient is only one part of an extrication. Just as important is working alongside EMS to ensure the patient is properly stabilized and removed safely without causing further injury. We’d like to thank Tallapoosa EMS for their support and for taking the time to help our members better understand patient stabilization and coordinated patient care during extrication scenarios. When the tones drop, training is what makes the difference.
