For clarity on our meeting room fees, as we have had some questions and to head off any misinformation. Our large meeting rooms A & B do have a flat rate charge of $25 per use at this time. This does not include library programs, however, many of our smaller/passive programs have been moved to our new Program Classroom inside the library, to reduce wear and tear on our larger meeting rooms and to make those rooms available to outside groups. This also allows for use of this wonderful space which has largely gone unused. We do not charge for library created programs, however, will adjust them as needed to better suit the overall needs of the community and library. If you have any questions or concerns do not hesitate to reach out to us directly. Thank you!

Tomorrow Trailblazers Club starts at 4pm!

Ready to try something new? Trailblazers Club is a brand-new monthly adventure for students in 6th–8th grade! Each month, we’ll explore something different through Art, Music, STEM, Games and Adventure. Get creative, get curious, learn new skills, and maybe even discover a new passion along the way!
Come ready to explore, experiment, create, and have fun—you never know where the next adventure will take us!
Trailblazers Club meets the third Thursday of each month from 4–5 pm.

Join us tomorrow, at 11 AM for Book Babies Lapsit—a special storytime designed just for babies (from birth to confident walkers) and their grownups.
We’ll be singing songs , wiggling to rhymes , sharing sweet little books , and building those all-important early literacy skills—followed by playtime for the babies and chat-time for the parents!
Structured fun lasts about 15 minutes, then it’s play and social time. It's never too early to chew on a good book (literally AND figuratively )!
Every Thursday at 11 AM
No registration required—just bring your baby and your smile!
Let’s wiggle, giggle, and grow together!
Book Babies is for ages birth to confident walkers. Siblings are welcome, however we ask parents to supervise all of their children in attendance to ensure a safe and fun environment.

Bring the whole family to our Evening Storytime— a fun, 45-minute program held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month from 5:45 PM to 6:30 PM, this engaging all-ages event may include stories, songs, movement, and crafts. No registration required — just drop in and enjoy!

We are very sad to hear about the passing of Jimmy Anderson. He was a great historian and donated many important local historical documents to our genealogy room here at the library. Words cannot express our gratitude for his passion and diligence for recording and preserving historical events. He will be missed.

Dahlonega and Lumpkin County has lost another one of its great historians. We are learning of the death of Jimmy Anderson who passed away on Friday, October 9th. Jimmy was a lifetime member of the Lumpkin County Historical Society and had contributed greatly to recording many stories and family histories of Lumpkin County. He will be deeply missed.
