Yesterday's car fire training was interrupted by a "real" fire call but we continued on later till we got the job done.
I'll bet that guy will think twice before he parks in a "no parking zone" again! 😂😂

🚨🚒 EXCITING NEWS FOR MOWBRAY VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT! 🚒🚨

WE ARE PROUD TO ANNOUNCE THAT WE HAVE BEEN AWARDED $401,757.65 THROUGH THE 2025 FEMA ASSISTANCE TO FIREFIGHTERS GRANT (AFG) PROGRAM! 🇺🇸

This is a HUGE milestone for our department and an incredible investment in the safety of our firefighters and the community we proudly serve!

This funding will allow us to replace our aging Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) air packs and bottles with new, modern equipment. These air packs are among the most critical pieces of equipment our firefighters depend on when entering burning buildings and hazardous environments.

💰 Total Project Award: $401,757.65

🇺🇸 Federal Grant Funding: $382,626.33

🚒 Department Contribution: $19,131.32

For a small volunteer fire department, securing funding of this magnitude is truly a game changer. Replacing this equipment would place a tremendous financial burden on our department without the assistance of this grant.

This award represents more than just new equipment. It represents firefighter safety, improved emergency response capabilities, and our continued commitment to protecting lives and property.

We want to extend our sincere appreciation to FEMA and the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program for recognizing the needs of our department and investing in our mission.

We also want to thank our dedicated firefighters, our board of directors, and the citizens and supporters of Mowbray Mountain and the surrounding communities. Your continued support makes it possible for us to serve!

🌊🚒 SWIFT WATER RESCUE DAY 1 of 2 TRAINING — OCOEE RIVER! 🚒🌊

Members of the Mowbray Volunteer Fire Department recently traveled to the Ocoee River for hands-on Swift Water Rescue training!

Our crews had the opportunity to train in realistic, challenging water conditions and work on several important rescue skills, including:

🚗 Vehicle-in-the-water / Car-in-the-Creek operations
🌊 Strainer Bar operations
🛟 Swift water rescue techniques
🪢 Rope and rescue system skills
🤝 Teamwork, communication, and rescuer safety
🚒 Real-world scenarios designed to prepare us for emergencies in our community

Swift water incidents can change in seconds, and there is no substitute for getting into moving water and practicing these skills in a controlled training environment.

We are proud of our members for giving their time to continue learning, improving, and preparing for the calls where specialized training can make all the difference.

Train hard. Stay prepared. Serve our community.

Also big thanks to the members that stayed back and covered district while we were gone looking forward to day two tomorrow.

Dallas Bay Fire & Rescue – EMS Division will be hosting an Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) course September 28–October 9 at Soddy Daisy Fire Department Station 1.

The course will run on an accelerated schedule, with classes held daily, Monday-Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Attendance is required each day.

Prayers to the community and members of Cagle Fire.

It is with heavy hearts that we remember former Chief Robert Roy Rude.

Robert dedicated 15 years of service to the Cagle Volunteer Fire Department, including 11 years as Chief. He had a genuine passion for firefighting and for serving the people of our community.

His leadership, dedication, and countless hours spent answering calls, helping others, and supporting this department will not be forgotten.

A celebration of life will be held October 18th at 2pm at the fire hall.

Our thoughts are with his family and friends.
