In the summer of 2019, Mary Campbell messaged Good Samaritan about a program through High Plains Food Bank and the USDA to give supplemental groceries for seniors over 60. The program was/is Commodity Supplemental Good Program better known as CSFP. When talking with HPFB we were told the only way to bring this program to Dalhart was to have 36 participants. The 1st sign-up was around 40 participants. Today we have 131 participants
In September 16, 2026 we celebrated our 7 year with a hamburger cookout for each participant and their immediate family & volunteers. A special Thank you to XIT Feeders Gene Lowrey for donating the hamburger meat.
BrickStreet Community Center for the condiments and the use of their kitchen for preparing vegetables and Hilmar Cheese for their sliced cheese and 1 pound cheese blocks for each senior. These will be given out in October. So many people helped put this event together and worked along side with Good Samaritan. Thank you.
Thank you to all the seniors on our program that we know and love. You bless us more than you will ever know.

Good Samaritan is NOT a Dumping Ground. Please leave your unwanted items in your own alley, take to the landfill or sell your metal for scrap. Thank you for your understanding.
