🐾 DALHART ANIMAL SHELTER FUNDRAISER — OCTOBER 3RD! 🐾

We hope to see our community come together for a great cause on October 3rd from 10 AM–7 PM at the parking lot of the old Horizon Funeral Home, 701 Elm Street!

Our Dalhart Animal Shelter is currently in need of new holding pens, and this fundraiser is an opportunity to help us raise the funds needed to improve the shelter and provide a safer, better environment for the dogs in our care. ❤️🐶

There will be plenty of fun for the entire family, including vendors, a food truck, pony rides, a bounce house, music, raffles, kids’ roping, fall photos, adoptable dogs and a Pet Costume Contest at 2 PM! 🎃🐾 bring your pets in their Halloween costumes

*pets must be leashed and non-aggressive

❤️ We will also have a special donation jar benefiting T&T Donuts. One of our local businesses is facing needed repairs, and we want to give our community an opportunity to show them some love and help them get back on their feet.

This event is about more than raising money—it’s about neighbors helping neighbors and a community taking care of its own.

Whether you come to adopt, donate, shop with our vendors, enter your pet in the costume contest, or simply spend the day with us, every bit of support makes a difference.

Just take a moment, pause, breath, and remember where you were on 9/11. Be glad such people exist that are willing to give all to help and protect others. You do not have to wear a badge, helmet or uniform to be a hero. September 11th when the sky filled with dirt and smoke, hero’s of all forms arose to the occasion. This is what makes America so strong. Never forget!

🇺🇸 WE WILL NEVER FORGET — SEPTEMBER 11, 2001 🇺🇸

Today, members of the Dalhart Police Department spent time throughout our community placing American flags in remembrance of the lives lost on September 11, 2001.

Twenty-five years later, we continue to honor the nearly 3,000 lives taken that day, including the firefighters, law enforcement officers, first responders, military members, and ordinary citizens who showed extraordinary courage in the face of unimaginable tragedy.

These flags are a small gesture, but they carry a powerful message: We remember. We honor. We will never forget. 🇺🇸

We are proud to see the Stars and Stripes flying throughout Dalhart today and grateful to serve a community that remembers alongside us.

🎅💙 BLUE SANTA IS BACK — AND WE’RE DOING THINGS A LITTLE DIFFERENTLY THIS YEAR! 💙🎅

The Dalhart Police Department’s Blue Santa Program is getting ready to help bring a little extra Christmas magic to local children and families who may need some help this holiday season. 🎄🎁

This year, we’re asking our community to help us identify families who could benefit from Blue Santa. Anyone can nominate a local family. The nomination form asks for information such as the number and ages of the children, clothing and shoe sizes, likes and dislikes, and items they may especially need. The more information we receive, the better we can personalize Christmas for each child. ❤️

📅 Family nominations are due Friday, November 13, 2026.
📍 Forms may be picked up at and returned to the Dalhart Police Department at 609 Liberal St.

Today, the Dalhart Police Department honors and remembers the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving our country. Memorial Day is more than a holiday — it is a time to reflect on the courage, dedication, and selflessness of those who gave their lives to protect the freedoms we enjoy every day.

We are forever grateful to our fallen heroes and the families who continue to carry their legacy.
