Seek The Peace (SEEK) is a grass-roots, peacebuilding organization working to foster a just and stable peace among war-torn and refugee communities.

Over 65 million people have been forced to flee their homes, cities, and countries due to persecution and other forms of violent conflict. Communities have been destroyed, lives have been lost, and futures stolen. We help restore what conflict has undone by equipping refugees to be peacemakers within their communities.

We are so excited about today because we are going to spread the love to some of the most vulnerable people oversees and at our border.

MORIA- You may have heard about the fires in the Moria Refugee Camp last week. These fires have displaced 13,000 people- brothers and sisters who had already left behind all they had to flee to safety, now suffering unimaginable loss, yet again. Your donation today will send tents, sleeping bags and flashlights to families in need.

TEXAS/MEXICO BORDER- Right now thousands of asylum seekers are living in makeshift tent cities at our border. We are partnering with teams on the ground to provide drinking water to families. When you give today you send this life saving essential to the image bearers waiting for welcome.

JOIN US TODAY AND SPREAD THE LOVE!

“Prayer for a Pandemic"
May we who are merely inconvenienced,
Remember those whose lives are at stake.

May we who have no risk factors,
Remember the most vulnerable.

May we who have the luxury of working from home,
Remember those who must choose between preserving their health or making their rent.

May we who have flexibility to care for our children when their schools close,
Remember those who have no options.

May we who have to cancel our trips,
Remember those that have no safe place to go.

May we who are losing our margin money in the tumult of the economic market,
Remember those who have no margin at all.

May we who settle in for a quarantine at home,
Remember those who have no home.

As fear grips our country,
Let us choose LOVE

During this time when we can not physically wrap our arms around each other,
Let us yet find ways to be the loving embrace of God to our neighbors.

This is our hope and dream at every week, that the girls who walk through our doors on Mondays and Thursdays would experience peace and unconditional love.

“King was fueled by his vision of a more beautiful world. He knew that creating a nation where peace was for every person, black and white alike, required disrupting the illusion of peace that many white folks were content to live with. In Dr. King’s time, just a few decades ago, segregation wasn’t just the law, it was a set of values upheld by white Americans—in both southern and northern states.

Creating peace meant rewriting the false narrative that whiteness was superior to blackness. It meant dismantling the stories and structures that made violence against black women, men, and children seem acceptable, even to nice white people. It meant taking apart the world as it was and putting it back together as it should be.

Dr. King wasn’t a peacekeeper; he was a peacemaker, committed to restructuring the world as a place of real and lasting peace… for everyone.”

Last night at we wrote letters to asking him to reconsider closing Texas’ doors to refugees. .

The shine girls shared their family stories- and went on and on about how much they loved living in Texas and how thankful they are to have the opportunity to get an education and some day give back all they have received. .

Mentors shared the ways refugees have changed their lives and communities for the better. .

We are now asking all of you to share your thoughts with too. Call, tweet, email, or send some snail mail-Because deep in the heart of Texas we know welcoming those in need is good for us all.
