It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Marty Mintz—a beloved teacher, devoted volunteer, and cherished friend. Marty shaped lives through his generosity of spirit and his passion for learning, always giving his time and wisdom with kindness and humor.

Marty’s love for Judaism, movies, and—above all—his family defined him. Whether in the classroom, the community, or a conversation about a favorite film, he had a rare way of making people feel seen and valued. He leaves behind a legacy of learning, service, and love that will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know him.
May his memory be for a blessing. 💙

Marty Mintz - Dallas Jewish Historical Society Oral History Video Marty Mintz was born in Brooklyn, New York, in 1944. He has been a very active leader and supporter of Dallas's Jewish community.

Our thoughts are with the family of Janet Hershman who shared her Jewish journey with us in 2013. She was a lifelong volunteer within the Jewish community and shared her values of community involvement, family and service in her oral history. May her memory always be for a blessing!
