Memorial Day is a time of deep honor, but for many of us, it is also a day carried with heavy hearts.
While the nation pauses to remember the brave heroes who served, many families are also navigating the quiet, personal spaces of grief. At Elder Cares, LLC, we understand that honoring a legacy often goes hand-in-hand with processing loss.
You do not have to carry that weight alone. Our dedicated Grief Support services are here to provide a compassionate, listening ear and professional guidance tailored to your family's journey.

THE 40/70 RULE™
A simple guide for when families should start the aging‑plan conversation.
🕒 When You’re 40
It’s time to start thinking about your parents’ future needs — safety, independence, and long‑term planning.
🎂 When They’re 70
It’s the ideal moment to talk openly about preferences, health, home safety, and support.
💬 Why It Matters
Starting early prevents crisis decisions, reduces stress, and ensures your loved one’s wishes are honored.
📋 What to Discuss
• Home safety
• Health changes
• Daily living needs
• Finances & planning
• Legal documents
• Personal preferences

😍Care Card ~ Supporting Caregivers of Aging Parents
Are you uncomfortable 😣 saying what you REALLY think? Let us do it for you! Just forward this to friends and family or share it with a comment on social media.
We will be posting unique Care Cards ALL NEXT WEEK!
Please Do 🙌
BE SPECIFIC WITH HELP: EXAMPLE: "I'm at the store, what can I drop off?" or "l have 2 hours on Tuesday to help with laundry."
KEEP INVITING ME: Please keep asking me to join, even if I usually say no. It reminds me I'm still part of the community.
HELP WITH "INVISIBLE" CHORES:
Take something off my plate like mowing the lawn, taking out the trash, or picking up a prescription.
OFFER "LOW-ENERGY" HANGOUTS: I might not be able to go out, but I'd love for you to drop by with coffee and chat for a while.
ASK ABOUT "THEM": Ask about my parent's life. It's nice to remember who they are and take the focus off of their current needs.
Please Don't ✋
SAY "LET ME KNOW WHAT I CAN DO:” It puts the pressure on me to think of a task and ask for help. Just offer a specific action.
COMPARE TYPICAL AGING: If my parent is living with dementia or a major illness, please don't compare it to "normal" forgetfulness.
PRESSURE ME TO "TAKE A BREAK": I know I need rest, but I might feel guilty leaving. Just offer to be there so I can rest nearby.
I Can ...
✅Do a specific errand
✅Provide a meal
✅Sit with my parent
✅Hang for a short time

"I feel like I'm drowning." 🌊
I hear this from family caregivers every single week. Coordinating doctor appointments, tracking medications, managing safety concerns, and navigating insurance turns loving adult children into full-time, exhausted administrators.
It is completely normal to feel overwhelmed—but you do not have to figure this out by yourself.
As a Social Service Consultant, I founded Elder Cares, LLC to lift that weight off your shoulders.
We specialize in building individualized, comprehensive Care Plan Roadmaps that protect your loved one's independence and give your family total peace of mind.
From healthcare navigation to funeral planning , we handle the logistics so you can focus on simply being a family again.
Let's take the first step together. Call Victoria Elder, today at 📞 570-262-7197 or email us at ✉️ [email protected] to schedule your consultation.
This is a non-medical service.
