Official account of the City of Allen. We're not a small town anymore with over 100K residents, but we aren't overgrown either.

From humble beginnings around a water station dam along the Houston and Texas Central Railroad line, Allen has developed into a dynamic and diverse community. We've stayed connected to our roots, prepared for the future and built a city that is downright delightful. And it shows – MONEY's "Best Places to Live 2017" has Allen tops in Texas and #2 in the nation. Family Circle, D Magazine, WalletHub,

πŸŽ“πŸ–οΈ A beach ball, proud graduates, and a whole lot of Allen spirit!

We're taking a look back at Allen High School's 1992 commencement ceremony at the University of North Texas Coliseum in Denton. While waiting for the ceremony to begin, graduates kept the celebration going by batting around a beach ball, proving that some traditions of fun and friendship never go out of style.

This throwback is part of our yearlong celebration of Allen's 150th anniversary of being platted. As we honor our past, we also celebrate the generations of Eagles who have helped shape our community.

Congratulations to Allen graduates of yesterday, today, and tomorrow. No matter where life takes you, you'll always have a place to call home. β€οΈπŸ¦…

πŸŽ“ Graduation season is one of our favorite traditions in Allen!

Every year, thousands of graduates, family members, and friends make their way to the Credit Union of Texas Event Center to celebrate one of life's biggest milestones. What started as a graduation venue has grown into an annual tradition that welcomes students from across North Texas to our community.

In May, more than 45,000 guests walked through the doors for ceremonies honoring graduates from Collin College, Wylie ISD, Farmersville ISD, Princeton ISD, McKinney ISD, Lovejoy ISD, and John Paul II High School.

Why Allen? The Credit Union of Texas Event Center offers the space, accessibility, technology, and parking needed to host celebrations on a grand scale. From massive video boards and arena-quality production to comfortable seating for family and friends, it's designed to make these milestone moments unforgettable.

And when the ceremony ends, graduates and their loved ones are right in the heart of Allen's restaurants, shopping, and entertainment districts, making it easy to turn graduation day into a full weekend of celebration.

Congratulations to the Class of 2026! We're honored to be part of your special day and proud to welcome so many families to Allen each year. πŸŽ‰

🌧️ Sudden downpours and gushing rain can carry trash, oil, fertilizer and pet waste straight into our creeks and lakes through storm drains.
Β
Help protect our waterways this summer by making a few simple changes:
β€’ Pick up pet waste
β€’ Sweep grass clippings back onto your lawn
β€’ Fix vehicle leaks when possible
β€’ Secure trash before storms roll in
Β
What flows into the storm drain flows into our waterways. Clean water starts in every neighborhood.
