If anyone lost some car keys in the park this afternoon, let me know and I will get them to you.

PLEASE PICK UP AFTER YOUR DOG!!!
There is way too much dog p**p being left behind in the park. Domestic dog p**p is not the same as wild animal s**t. So please, be kind to the park and do everyone a favor — clean up after your dog! It is ugly and unsightly, a way to spread parasites and bad for the ecosystem. Not to mention accidentally stepping in it!
THANK YOU!!!
It’s LIGHTS OUT time!
Fall bird (and bat and butterfly) migration is starting to kick into high gear. These guys travel mostly at night so there are some things you can do now to make sure they don’t crash into houses and buildings and arrive at their destinations safely.
🔦Turn off non-essential lights from 11 PM until 6 AM.
🔦 Turn off or dim lobby and atrium lights.
🔦 Turn off or dim interior home lighting or draw blinds to prevent light escaping.
🔦 Turn off decorative landscape lighting.
🔦 Turn off lights before leaving the home or office.
🔦 Be sure outside lights are aimed DOWN and well shielded.
🔦 Install motion sensors on outside lights to reduce use.
Most migratory birds will have pased through by late November/early December.
THANK YOU!!!

Head over to the prairie and check out all the wild flowers before they’re gone! Upright prairie cone flowers, Indian blankets, Texas thistles, lemon bee balm, Dakota mock vervain, rosinweed, and plenty more!

Spring bird migration is in full swing and many birders and bird/nature photographers are coming to the park to see who’s passing through. Dana Sudborough is a birder and nature photographer and he has shared some beautiful photos of birds he saw in our park this past month. Names are below each photo. Look for more to come!

This big guy was spotted taking a sunny stroll down the sidewalk in the neighborhood adjacent to the nature area at 3:40pm today. If you are in the park, always be aware of your surroundings, no matter what time of day. 😎

The park and rec department has been hard at work on the prairie, mulching down overgrown woody invasive plants and making the place look more like the prairie it is. Stands of Mexican plum trees, pecan trees and other valuable plants will remain. Long overdue but greatly appreciated!
Found a ladies watch on the new trail along Arborside Dr. this morning. If it’s yours and can correctly ID, I’m happy to return. Just send me a DM

These wonderful teens from the recreation arm of Dallas Park and Rec came to our nature area for two days last week and cleared out the privet blocking one of the trail entrances off Arborside. Thank you Exall, Thurgood-Marshall, Timberglen and Nash-Davis rec centers for your participation in this program! We are grateful for the work these kids performed!
