Throughout May, DCAC took time to celebrate the officers and investigators who help protect children every day. They walk into tough situations, hear the hardest stories, and still show up with strength and compassion for kids and families.

Last week, our MDT Coordination Team visited all of our law enforcement partner agencies to drop off tokens of appreciation as a simple way to say “we see you, and we’re grateful.”

We are so thankful for our law enforcement partners and the many ways they stand in the gap for children in our community.

As Mental Health Awareness Month wraps up, we want to send a heartfelt thank-you to the incredible therapists at Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center. Every day, they help children and families process trauma, build coping skills, and find a path toward healing.

Their work may not always be visible to the wider community, but its impact is felt in every child and family they support. We’re so grateful for our DCAC therapists and the care, comfort, and hope they provide all year long.

We were honored to attend the Genesis Women's Shelter & Support Luncheon supporting survivors of domestic violence.

It was especially meaningful to hear from Mariska Hargitay, whose advocacy continues to elevate awareness and inspire action for those impacted by violence and trauma.

At Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center, we have the privilege of working alongside some of the most dedicated law enforcement professionals in our community. They walk into the hardest situations imaginable. They work long hours. They carry the weight of heartbreaking stories most people will never hear. And still, they show up—again and again.

They investigate crimes against children with courage and compassion. They fight for justice when children cannot fight for themselves. They sit with families in moments of unimaginable trauma and help create a path toward safety, healing, and hope.

Because of them, children are believed. Offenders are held accountable. Families are supported. And futures are changed.

To every detective, officer, investigator, and law enforcement professional who stands beside us in this mission, thank you. Your service creates hope for a better future for every child we serve and for our community as a whole.

We’re honored to see DCAC co-founder, the late Lt. Bill Walsh, recognized on the national stage.

The late Lt. Walsh was recently inducted into the National Law Enforcement Officers Hall of Fame with a Career Achievement Award, in recognition of his decades of service protecting children and supporting the professionals who respond when abuse is suspected. The story below shares how his vision helped establish Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center and the Crimes Against Children Conference, shaping how communities across the country respond to child abuse.

Because of his leadership, children in Dallas County have a coordinated, child-centered path to safety, justice, and healing.
