We're committed to 'Doing the Most Good' through donors & partners who share a desire to help our neighbors in need.
Providing basic needs when hard times hit, care and aid for those living on the fringes of society is at the heart of The Salvation Army. Soon after beginning his ministerial career in England in 1852, William Booth abandoned the concept of the traditional church pulpit in favor of taking the gospel of Jesus Christ directly to the people. Walking the streets of London, he preached to the poor, the
homeless, the hungry, and the destitute. When fellow clergymen disagreed with Booth’s unconventional approach, he and his wife Catherine withdrew from the church to train evangelists throughout England. The couple returned to the East End of London in 1865, where many followers joined their fight for the souls of lost men and women. Within 10 years, their organization, operating under the name “The Christian Mission," had over 1,000 volunteers and evangelists. Thieves, prostitutes, gamblers, and drunkards were among their first converts to Christianity. And soon, those converts were also preaching and singing in the streets as living testimonies to the power of God. When Booth read a printer's proof of the 1878 “Christian Mission” annual report, he noticed the statement "The Christian Mission is a volunteer army." Crossing out the words "volunteer army," he penned in "Salvation Army." From those words came the basis of the foundation deed of The Salvation Army. From that point onward, converts became soldiers of Christ and were known then, as now, as Salvationists. They launched an offensive throughout the British Isles that, in spite of violence and persecution, converted 250,000 Christians between 1881 and 1885. Their message spread rapidly, gaining a foothold in America and soon after Canada, Australia, France, Switzerland, India, South Africa, Iceland, and Germany. Today, The Salvation Army is active in virtually every corner of the world and serves in over 100 countries, offering the message of God’s healing and hope to all those in need.

Did you know that The Salvation Army’s summer camps have been around almost as long as The Salvation Army itself?
The first official summer camp was the “Fresh Air Camp” in Kansas City, and the oldest existing camp was established in 1901 in Camp Lake, Wisconsin.
The rest has been history, serving children across the nation and providing them a summer full of fresh air, sunshine, friendship, ministry, and character-building activities. ☀️
For some, it’s a simple act of kindness. For others, it’s a gift that helps provide meals, shelter, and hope for neighbors in need. However you choose to give, you can help out in Texas.
Memorial Day is a day to remember and honor the brave men and women who have lost their lives fighting for our country. At The Salvation Army Texas, every day we offer a number of support services for local veterans struggling to get by.
We forever recognize and commemorate the bravery of those who sacrifice their everyday lives and comforts for the greater good of America, and we strive to ensure that those who return home have the support and resources to build a thriving post-service future.
Each of us has been given a gift, and we’re called to use it to serve others. 💛
Join us this Sunday as we grow together, worship together, and discover how we can live out our purpose in faith.
There’s a place for you here. Come as you are. We’d love to welcome you.
From making new friends to trying new things, summer camp is full of moments that kids will never forget. It’s more than just fun: it’s confidence, connection, and discovering what you’re capable of.
Giving with joy doesn’t have to happen alone. In fact, the more the merrier!
Throughout the year, our hallways are filled with high school groups, college students, small businesses, churches and teams coming together to serve in different ways.
Some organize food drives. Some volunteer their time. Others raise funds to support the work happening every day.
However they show up, each act becomes part of something bigger!
When we give side by side, whether through time, service or resources, that impact reaches further than any one person could on their own.
As we close out National Salvation Army Week, we celebrate the heart of our Corps—a place where worship, community, and service come together. 💛
Each Sunday, we gather for worship and Sunday School, growing in faith while serving our neighbors with love and compassion. This is how we live out our mission: to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and meet human needs in His name without discrimination.
