A Democratic strategist went on CNN NewsNight tonight and tried to sell Scott Jennings on the idea that 𝐉𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐬 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐨 𝐢𝐬 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐩𝐨𝐩𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐃𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐝 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐦𝐩 𝐢𝐧 𝐓𝐞𝐱𝐚𝐬. Jennings listened. Then he asked the question that ended the segment.

The exchange is the single best two-minute summary of where the national Democratic Party actually is in 2026. They have a candidate who polls in the high teens with the base of his own party and they are sending strategists onto CNN to claim he is the future of a state Trump won by fourteen points last fall.
