She was first elected in 2018 as the Democratic nominee, and is seeking re-election in 2026. I am asking for your vote to serve as judge for Dallas County Criminal Court #3. The entire family is interacting with the criminal justice system when a person is victimized or arrested and it is my goal to create and maintain a just environment. I have the education and experience that will allow me to d

etermine which offenders need to be incapacitated in prison and which offenders could safely and effectively be rehabilitated through probation and diversion court services. I graduated from the Dallas Independent School District, received an MBA from Dallas Baptist University and JD from Texas Wesleyan University School of Law. Over the past thirty (30) years, I have been a dedicated servant leader and have been intentional in my career development to gain a solid foundation which has prepared me to be a qualified, impartial, efficient, fair and balanced jurist. Early in my career I worked with senior citizens through Senior Citizens of Greater Dallas, now The Senior Source, a non-profit agency and later spent over eleven (11) years in management with the Visiting Nurse Association of Texas (VNA) working extensively for Meals on Wheels. I have the unique experience of practicing in several areas of the law that directly affects the lives of families. I now concentrate my legal career as a criminal defense practitioner which has further broadened my perspective and deepened my desire to become a judge to continue to have a positive impact on the lives of those before me. As an active member of the J.L. Turner Legal Association, Dallas Women’s Lawyer’s Association and the Dallas Bar Association I have gained leadership experience by serving in various high profile positions. I am honored to currently serve on the Board of Directors for the State Bar of Texas as a Section Representative and on the Board of Directors for the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. Because of my longstanding relationships with the legal community and the judiciary, I was honored to receive a special invitation to participate in the Beyond The Bench: Law, Justice and Communities Summit coordinated by the Supreme Court of Texas and the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals. State leaders, judges, law enforcement and community leaders came together to address ways to strengthen and ensure trust and confidence in the justice system. This further evidences the seriousness with which I undertake this task. Dependability, transparency, fairness, respect and capability are hallmarks of my leadership style. I will protect victims, safeguard the rights of the accused and the interests of you, the citizen, in the pursuit of justice. As a lifelong democrat, I look forward to receiving your support and would be humbled to serve as Judge for Dallas County Criminal Court #3. As a judge of a Specialty Treatment Court, annual training is required for the entire team. Specialty Courts decrease recidivism. Dallas County has several specialty courts- this is pure volunteer work and for most of us, is in addition to our regular case load. I am so proud of my team. We see lives transformed. We are happy to speak to any organization, church group or legal association about specialty courts and how to maximize their impact in the community.
