Several months after Jesus was born in Bethlehem, the Magi were led by a star to a house in Nazareth, where they presented the child with their treasure.

The journey of the Wise Men was very long, giving Mary and Joseph plenty of time to fulfill all that the Law required at the Temple, and return to their home in Nazareth. The Wise Men briefly took their eyes off the star and turned to King Herod for the specific location of the New King. They may have assumed the child was born into his family. Once they left King Herod, they again focused on the star, which led them to the very house where Jesus now lived.
