NEW! Thankfully, we have entered a cooler time of year. But beyond the soothing cool temperatures, several herbs lend their comfortable colors and flavors to our garden this fall. Agrilife Extension Agent Matt Orwat not only goes over the classic cool season cilantro and parsley which can be planted now by seed or by transplant, but also covers the several varieties of sage and thyme are great for the fall and winter kitchen garden, bringing their beautiful color to the garden and savory flavor to the palate. Plus! There's more perennials herbs that you can plant this October: chives, marjoram, mint, rosemary, lemon balm, oregano, and fennel, and all these are detailed.

The Constellation of Living Memorials Symposium II brings together leaders in conservation, education, historic preservation, community engagement, higher education, and public policy to explore how neglected historic cemeteries can become sacred grounds, living landscapes, and civic anchors for healthier communities.

With CLM moving from a successful two-year pilot into its launch phase, this year’s symposium looks toward what comes next: building the partnerships, community leadership, and framework needed to grow a sustainable movement across Texas and beyond.

Through presentations, moderated conversations, a national keynote, and facilitated small-group discussions, attendees will not simply hear about the CLM model. They will help shape its future.

New World screwworm online training course
This course takes a deep dive into research-backed information to help Texans understand the screwworm, as well as its inspection, reporting and treatments.
This four-hour course is free and can be viewed by anyone who wants to learn more about New World screwworm. The course also serves as the foundational course to become a Texas Animal Health Commission’s (TAHC) certified inspector.
