June is Immigrant Heritage Month—a time to celebrate the rich contributions of our immigrant communities in Dallas.

Today, our WCIA team was honored at the Dallas County Commissioner’s Court with a resolution recognizing this important month and the work our staff does to support and uplift immigrant communities across the city.

Thank you, Dallas County Commissioner Dr. Elba Garcia, Dallas County Commissioner District 4, for highlighting the impact of this work and for celebrating the vibrant diversity that makes Dallas a globally competitive city.

Yesterday, our team had the opportunity to participate in the "Keep Dallas Beautiful, Together" initiative, collaborating with departments across the city to help clean up our community. This year-long effort focuses on litter and trash pick-up to maintain a healthy and safe environment within our city.

We’re grateful to city leadership for promoting such an impactful cause.

Our Fair Housing team joined 311 On the Go at Vickery Meadow Youth Development Center for their Mother’s Day event!

We shared how and when to file a fair housing complaint, highlighted 311 as an easy resource for support (available in multiple languages), and connected residents with local orgs like Legal Aid, Texas Tenants Union, and tenant rights information

That’s a wrap on Fair Housing Month! 🏡✨

Huge thank you to our City staff, leadership, and department partners for helping us spread the word about housing rights and available services.

Throughout April, our Fair Housing team hosted a Road Show series—pop-up events held in Districts 2, 5, 8, and 13—bringing information directly to neighborhoods about how to recognize housing discrimination and file a complaint. We also hosted weekly tabling events at City Hall to connect with staff and residents through resources, giveaways, and sweet treats.

We’re committed to promoting and preserving housing choice without regard to race, color, religion, s*x, national origin, handicap (disability), familial status or s*xual orientation; and to promote and preserve equal employment and public accommodations without regard to s*xual orientation.
