I-80 TRAVEL ANNOUNCEMENT

From PennDOT: A major traffic switch will begin at 10pm on Wednesday, September 9th, weather permitting. During this operation, Interstate 80 westbound traffic will be directed onto a high speed median crossover to the newly widened eastbound bridge, then crossover back to the existing westbound side. This traffic switch is to facilitate demolition of the existing westbound structure and construction of the new westbound structure.

Motorists traveling through the area should expect changes in traffic patterns and are reminded to follow all posted signage and use caution while driving through the work zone.

From PA DEP and Luzerne County:

An aerial black fly (gnat) suppression operation is scheduled for Tuesday, July 14th , on the North Branch Susquehanna River, Fishing Creek and Tunkhannock Creek. This operation will begin in Columbia County at 0900 and will work north and finish in Wyoming County. This aerial application will include flights in Wyoming, Lackawanna, Luzerne and Columbia Counties. The helicopter will be a UH1H with the tail number N638HA and is painted blue with sliver stripes.
