Sons of Confederate Veterans Camp 1313, a non-profit organization, is named in honor of General Will General William L. Cabell
CABELL, WILLIAM LEWIS (1827–1911).

William Lewis Cabell, Confederate general and mayor of Dallas, son of Benjamin W. S. and Sarah Epes (Doswell) Cabell, was born on January 1, 1827, in Danville, Virginia. The elder Cabell was a veteran of the War of 1812 and a member of the Virginia General Assembly. William Cabell graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1850 and entered the United States Army as a brevet

Johnny Horton playing the guitar and singing to the last Veteran of the Civil war a Confederate solider who was 116 at the time in 1958.
Two years later Johnny was killed by a drunk driver northeast of Austin. He was only 35 years old.

Drummer boys in both the Confederate and Union armies served with distinction thoughout the war.
Some were mere boys, as young as ten years of age.
That many of these young men were wounded and some even killed in battle attests to the dangerous conditions to which they were exposed. They endured the same difficulties, hardships and privations as any other soldier in the field. They were veterans in every sense of the word.

This does not include the people below that have ancestors which fought for the Confederacy like, Elvis, General George Patton, Audie Murphy, Dolly Parton. Robin Williams, Dale Earnhardt Sr. and Jr., as well as Presidents Jimmy Carter, Teddy Roosevelt, Lyndon Johnson and Harry Truman.
