We want to thank all of the volunteers and visitors who attended our abbreviated version of the annual Commemoration of the Battle of Pickett’s Mill on Saturday, 5/30. We anticipate scheduling our much larger Commemoration next year, weather permitting, with some addition programs that we hope that visitors will enjoy.

The Friends of Pickett’s Mill Battlefield State Historic Site would like to recognize and thank Brad Butkovich, who spoke with visitors about the Battle, presented a program on “Infantry Weapons at Pickett’s Mill” and conducted a battlefield tour for spectators and Reenactors at the Commemoration held on Saturday, 5/30. We look forward to his participation again next year

The "Commemoration of the Battle of Pickett’s Mill" this weekend has been canceled due to the condition of the park after the recent rain and flooding. However; the Park will have a "Soldier and Civilian Life" program on Saturday, May 30th at the Visitor Center sponsored by the Friends of Pickett’s Mill Battlefield State Historic Site.
Noted author on the Battle of Pickett's Mill, Brad Butkovich, will be available to share his knowledge and books on the battle.
Volunteers in period military and civilian clothing will be available to interact with visitors. Weather permitting, soldiers will be demonstrating infantry and artillery drill and firing behind the Visitor Center. A period, military medical display will also be available inside the museum. Civilians will be demonstrating period crafts such as making tissue flowers and church dolls inside the Visitor Center. Park admission fee will be required.

Valerie Cox, Hospital and Healthcare Professional and member of the Society of Civil War Surgeons, will be displaying period medical instruments and sharing her knowledge regarding the medical procedures available to treat wounded soldiers during the Civil War at the 162nd Commemoration of the Battle of Pickett's Mill on Saturday, May 30th. 4432 Mt Tabor Church Rd, Dallas, GA 30157.
