The 8th Flying Training Squadron (8 FTS) is part of the 71st Flying Training Wing based at Vance Air Force Base, Oklahoma.

It operates the T-6A Texan II aircraft conducting flight training.

The circle of life... A decade ago, LCDR Brent “Snooki” Nyheim, then an Ensign, was my flight student at Vance AFB. Today, Snooki schooled CAPT and ENS Curry in the F/A-18E simulator. For the 8 Ballers, Snooki is CAG LSO at CVW-3.

Ladies and Gentlemen,
On behalf of LtCol Marc D'auteuil, we would like to invite you and your
spouse to attend the 8th Flying Training Squadron Reunion on the 15th and
16th of March 2012. We will be celebrating the heritage of the 8th, and the
mighty 8-Ballers that have made this squadron a success since it was stood
up on 23 December 1941. We will be hosting a reception in the 8th FTS
auditorium at 1600 on the afternoon of the 15th of March. Activities and
brunch are planned for the 16th. Everyone is encouraged to forward this
