Impact Report: Average Friend Wages 💜

When we invest in our Friends, we invest in the future of Our Friends Place.

As part of our 2025 Impact Report, we’re highlighting average Friend wages over the years:

💜 2022: $12.90/hour
💜 2023: $13.68/hour
💜 2024: $15.65/hour
💜 2025: $15.50/hour

But what do these numbers mean in the context of the community our Friends call home?

According to Dallas College, as of 2026, a single adult living in Dallas County needs to earn $23.31 per hour to meet their basic needs, including food, housing, transportation, health care and other necessities.

At Our Friends Place, we know that building independence takes more than a paycheck. It takes opportunities to develop life skills, gain work experience, build confidence and create a foundation for a stable future.

Every step toward financial stability matters, and every Friend deserves the opportunity to build a future of her own. 💜

✨ Board Member Spotlight: Terri Neal✨

This month, we're proud to spotlight Terri Neal, a dedicated member of our Board of Directors.

Terri’s heart was drawn to Our Friends Place because she believes every young woman deserves the opportunity to feel safe, supported and hopeful about her future. As a mother, the thought of young women experiencing homelessness without that support deeply resonated with her. After learning more about OFP and seeing the difference the organization makes, she knew she wanted to do more than support the mission—she wanted to be part of it.

To Terri, OFP’s impact is about changing the trajectory of young women’s lives by meeting them where they are and providing a safe place, a supportive community and the tools they need to build a better future.

During her board tenure, Terri hopes to help OFP reach even more young women, build strong partnerships, increase awareness and fundraising, and create more opportunities for young women to move from surviving to thriving.

When asked to describe OFP in three words, Terri said it best: Resilient. Hopeful. Loving. 💜

💜 October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. 💜

Domestic violence can impact anyone, and leaving an abusive situation is often just the beginning of a much longer journey toward safety, healing and independence.

At Our Friends Place, we believe every young woman deserves to feel safe, supported and empowered to build a future of her own. Through resources, life skills, education and individualized support, we help young women overcome barriers and create pathways toward independence.

This month, we’re raising awareness, encouraging conversations and reminding our community that support can be life-changing.

Together, we can help create a community where every young woman has the opportunity to feel safe, find her voice and build a brighter future.

What a Night! ✨

What a special evening celebrating the incredible work of Our Friends Place! 💜

We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who joined us for the Gala and helped make the night so memorable. From coming together in support of the young women we serve to celebrating the impact of our community, the evening was truly one to remember.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our community, we raised over $160K to support Our Friends Place and our mission of helping young women build confidence, stability and independent futures.
