The Lehman Township Police Department is excited to launch the BLUE ENVELOPE program sponsored by Lehigh Valley Health Network part of Jefferson Health.

What is the Blue Envelope Program? It’s a voluntary program designed to help drivers who communicate differently feel more comfortable and supported during traffic stops. Making interactions with law enforcement clearer, calmer, and safer for everyone involved.

How does it work?
Drivers with autism or those who have trouble communicating (non-verbal or otherwise) keep their registration & insurance in a blue envelope and hand it to officers to signal communication needs. Each blue envelope is filled out by the driver and clearly explains their unique needs.

Why is it helpful?
It promotes understanding, reduces stress, and improves safety for both drivers and officers.

How can you get one for yourself or a loved-one?
Please email [email protected] to arrange pick up.
