At the recent Lake-Lehman School Board meeting, Back Mountain Regional Fire & EMS junior firefighters Ben Figura and Logan Wilhelm were recognized alongside fellow junior members from Noxen Volunteer Fire Company, Harveys Lake Volunteer Fire Company, and Idetown Volunteer Fire Company.
Throughout the school year, these dedicated young firefighters played an important role in supporting school safety initiatives and emergency drills. Their willingness to serve and contribute demonstrates a strong commitment to both their departments and the broader community.
Thank you, Ben and Logan, and all of the junior firefighters, for the many ways you give back. Your dedication, teamwork, and sense of responsibility are making a real difference.
Your leadership at such a young age is truly outstanding, and our community is fortunate to have you.

We are saddened to learn of the passing of FF/EMT Michael Crawford (Ret.) of the Wilkes-Barre City Fire Department and Wilkes-Barre City Firefighters IAFF Local 104.
Michael fought a courageous battle with esophageal cancer, demonstrating unwavering strength and resilience throughout.
Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with the Crawford family, as well as his brothers and sisters in the Wilkes-Barre City Fire Department.
