Healing from family violence takes time, especially when it comes to the impact on our emotional and mental well-being. This Mental Health Awareness Month, know that support is available.

The Family Place offers free individual and group counseling for domestic violence survivors, available in English and Spanish. Group sessions provide a safe space for peer support for adults, while activity-based programs help kids process trauma and work through the impacts of violence. Our case managers help you set goals and access the care you need.

You don’t have to navigate this alone. Visit the link in our bio to learn more about our free counseling services.

When someone you care about opens up to you, it may be hard to know exactly what to say.

Rather than searching for the “perfect” words, focus on responding with belief, patience, and support. Creating a safe, nonjudgmental space makes all the difference.

Save this for when you need it, and share it with someone who might, too. 💜

If you or someone you know needs support, call the hotline at 214.941.1991

What a night! ✨ Thank you to everyone who joined us for our 13th annual ReuNight.

Because of you, the evening was more than just a lively celebration – it was a powerful demonstration of our community's collective commitment to ending family violence.

From the conversations shared to the connections made, the energy at Banner House was a testament to what we can achieve when we come together, with this year's new cocktail-style format creating a vibrant atmosphere for connection and shared purpose. Your presence and generosity helped us raise awareness and funds to provide safety, hope, and healing for survivors across North Texas.

A huge thank you to our sponsors, guests, board members, event partners, and volunteers for making the evening a resounding success. We are so grateful for your support.

The night may be over, but the mission continues. Stand with survivors by visiting familyplace.org/donate.

When a community comes together, meaningful change happens.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the Community Advisory Council Luncheon last week! We're so grateful for your support and the generosity of our sponsors, Community Advisory Council members, and raffle donors.

We were honored to have Dr. Jessica Gomez discuss the effects of domestic violence on the family and hear Carolina Imperial courageously share her personal story of survival.

Your continued support helps make safety and healing possible for survivors and their families. 💜

For many survivors, leaving an abusive situation isn’t just about their own safety—it’s about their pets, too.

Abusers often threaten, harm, or even kill family pets as a way to control their partners.

No one should have to choose between their safety and a beloved pet. That’s why our Ann Moody Place shelter includes Barkingham Palace, a safe, on-site space where pets are cared for alongside their families.

Because healing should include every member of the family. 🐾💜
