Happy Friday! We've received several amazing donations of newly released books that we'll be adding to the Library over the coming week.

First up: Spirituality Through a Highly Sensitive Lens by Elaine N. Aron, Ph.D., a handbook to finding calm in a torrent of doomscrolling and roiling dark clouds out on the horizon. Dr. Aron, who has written extensively on the trait of high sensitivity and who has helped millions of HSPs with the stresses and overstimulation of the modern world, examines how this explosion of knowledge affects the highly sensitive person.

We’ve got some great new books in the Library this week!

Celestial Lights by Cecile Pin follows Ollie, born during the 1986 Challenger shuttle disaster, who grows up to be an astronaut leading a mission to Jupiter's moon, Europa. A portrait of a complicated man and a breathtaking tale of memory, personal choices, and the relationships that define us, Celestial Lights is an unforgettable story that questions what we owe ourselves and our loved ones when our ambitions and loyalties collide. With thanks to Henry Holt!

The Lie You Don’t Know You Believe by Jennie Allen blends biblical wisdom, neuroscience, and the author’s own journey with anxiety to identify three core lies that quietly sabotage our lives. With practical tools and spiritual truths, she equips readers to trace the roots of these lies, replace them with God’s truth, and build a life of emotional resilience and spiritual freedom. With thanks to Nelson Books and Jennie Allen!

There's something for everybody with these amazing new books courtesy of Macmillan Publishers!

Bad Asians by Lillian Li is about a group of friends who graduated into the Great Recession of 2008. They’re unemployed and stuck again under their parents’ roofs in a hypercompetitive Chinese American community. So when Grace―once the neighborhood golden child, now a Harvard Law School dropout―asks to make a documentary about the crew, they agree.

But then the video, Bad Asians, goes viral. Suddenly, millions of people know them as cruel caricatures. The friends must face harsh truths about themselves and coming of age in the new millennium.

Then there's A Killer in the Family by Amin Ahmad, an intoxicating drama set in the world of New York City’s elite.

It’s time for Ali, a good-natured Mumbai party-boy, to grow up. The first step to settling down is an arranged marriage to Maryam, the daughter of Abbas Khan, a New York real estate tycoon.

After the wedding, Ali moves to New York and enjoys the privileges of being an honorary Khan: private helicopters, supertall skyscrapers, and a Gatsbyesque house in the Hamptons. But soon rumors begin to surface about Abbas Khan—accusations of corruption and hidden affairs—and Farhan hints that a violent secret underlies Abbas's success.

To uncover the truth, Ali launches his own investigation, which takes him deep into Abbas’s dealings and past. As he closes in on the truth, Ali must decide: Can he remain part of the Khan family, and pay the moral price demanded by unimaginable wealth and power?

Hi, friends of Little Free Library of Highlands North-

Well, unfortunately, someone cleared the books and other treats out today. If you’re so inclined to contribute, please feel free to drop books in the bin by the front door.

We’ll wait awhile before putting books back in, since we’re told from others this has happened to that the culprits will often return quickly hoping it’s been restocked so they can take everything again. (They resell the contents for profit.)

We hope to be back soon with more great reads for our wonderful neighbors!
