Tonight’s City Council meeting marked both a celebration of service and the beginning of a new chapter for the City of Anna.

We recognized Council Member Stan Carver II for six years of dedication, leadership and commitment to our community. His service has helped shape Anna during an exciting time of growth and we are grateful for the impact he has made on our city.

The meeting also included the swearing-in ceremony led by City Secretary Carrie Land, who administered the Oath of Office to newly elected Council Member Jessica Walden and newly re-elected Council Member Elden Baker.

Congratulations to Council Member Walden and Council Member Baker as they begin this next term of service to Anna neighbors. We look forward to all that’s ahead for our community.

The City of Anna continues to experience steady growth, as reflected in the latest U.S. Census population estimates.

Over the past year, Anna’s population grew by more than 10%, reflecting the strong sense of community, quality of life and opportunity that make our city a place people are proud to call home.

We understand that growth can bring change and with that comes both challenges and opportunities. Continued growth allows for increased investment in infrastructure, parks, public safety, local businesses and community amenities that benefit our neighbors both now and in the future. It also reflects the confidence families and businesses have in Anna as a great place to live, work and build a future.
