Luzerne County is currently testing / monitoring in the area to help diminish the potential spread of West Nile Virus.

Tips to Prevent Mosquito Breeding:

Water in old tires can serve as ideal breeding habitat for mosquitoes. Artificial habitat such as bird baths, tires, unsealed rain barrels, children's toys, wheelbarrows, or anything else that holds stagnant water for more than 4 days can begin to breed mosquitoes. Please remove unnecessary artificial containers around buildings. Please empty out other containers and consider treating or drilling holes in larger ones.

How to lower your risk of mosquito-borne disease transmission:

• Avoid being outside at dawn and dusk

• Wear an EPA registered repellent

• Wear long, loose-fitting shirts and pants

• Remove standing water around property

You can choose by specifying the insect, protection time, active ingredient, or other product-specific information. Results are only EPA-registered skin-applied products, meaning their safety and effectiveness have been tested and approved.

The Dallas Borough Police Department would like to remind residents of Pennsylvania laws and important safety concerns regarding the increasing use of electric bikes and electric scooters.

Under Pennsylvania law, e-bike riders must be at least 16 years of age, and e-scooters are not permitted on public roads or sidewalks. E-Scooters can only be operated in the State of Pennsylvania on private property.

We want our community to stay safe and informed by understanding Pennsylvania’s laws regarding where these devices may be operated, licensing requirements, and safety expectations.

FYI! Electronics Recyling Day is comin up at DAMA

🚨🚨 DAMA will be hosting our Electronics Recycling Day on Saturday, August 15, 2026, from 10:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. at the DAMA Compost Site, located on State Route 118. The event costs $30.00 per vehicle to participate (including 2 TVs) and is open to residents of Dallas Township, Dallas Borough, Kingston Township, and Lehman Township. 📺📷📹🖨️⌨️💻🖥️
