Welcome, Irving Police Academy BPOC 1!

Today, Irving PD is hosting its first ever Basic Peace Officer Academy, welcoming 7 dedicated men and women as they officially began their journey to become police officers.

Over the coming months, BPOC 1 will be challenged, tested, and shaped into the officers who will one day serve our community, keep our streets safe, and answer the call when Irving needs them most. We’re proud of each recruit for accepting this challenge and to begin their journey in law enforcement.

🧊 FRIGID FRIDAY | COLD CASE SPOTLIGHT

The years may pass, but our commitment to finding answers never fades.

Through our partnership with SolveTheCase.org, we're bringing renewed attention to these investigations while working to make Irving's cold case information more accessible to the public.

CASE NO. 1984-43 : Warren Emmett Groff

On May 27, 1984, Groff was found shot to death along S. Wildwood Drive in Irving. More than four decades later, his case remains unsolved.

We're seeking information about his death, as well as leads that may help us locate his surviving family members.

Do you know something? Even the smallest detail could make a difference.
