With heavy hearts we must offer condolences to the family, friends and community at the loss of Marisol Pérez, and her 18-month-old son Erik Pérez Jr., and Sylvia Collins. The Democratic community is reeling from the loss of Precinct Chair Sylvia Collins. A vigil has already been held and the Dallas community is coming out in droves, including donations, to support those affected by the explosion.
Though officials have not publicly identified the three fatalities, friends, family and donation sites have named them as Marisol Pérez, and her 18-month-old son Erik Pérez Jr. along with Dallas County Democratic precinct chair Sylvia Collins.

The all-Republican court dealt a blow to Gov. Greg Abbott and state Republicans in their efforts to severely punish the more than 50 Democrats who bolted for New York, Illinois and Massachusetts in a bid to stop a vote on the maps during a special session.
