Today our U.S. Coast Guard Reserve celebrates 76 years of ensuring our Service is Semper Paratus wherever and whenever our Nation calls. I’ve often spoken of the need to build a Coast Guard workforce with the capacity and capability to meet our strategic needs as well as remain prepared for major contingencies. The men and women of the Coast Guard Reserve are at the heart of this and I continue to strongly advocate for the necessary Reserve force structure for both steady-state and surge operations.
