We at Pickett's Mill Battlefield State Historic Site would like to inform all visitors that on Tuesday, April 2nd, 2026, we will be conducting our annual prescribed burn. The red, blue, and purple trails will be closed on this day in order to ensure the safety of all visitors. Color-coded maps indicating these trails are available at the visitor center and online through the link at the end.

Ranger Tiana Meek's program, "Civil War Nurse Mary Walker", was recently recognized for "Most Innovative Program at a Historic Site", Region 1, at our Statewide Ranger's Conference last week. Here at Pickett's Mill Battlefield State Historic Site, we have availability for the camp host position. Although this is an unpaid position, space for an RV on park property is provided, which includes electricity and water. This position is available to start immediately.
Responsibilities include cleaning the group shelter between rentals, as well as outdoor maintenance, such as mowing and weed-eating.

For the Voices of America program on Saturday, January 31st, 2026, we will be featuring a program on Scandinavian soldiers present at the Battle of Pickett's Mill, especially regarding the 15th Wisconsin Infantry. If anyone who speaks Swedish, Finnish, or Norwegian is interested in assisting with or volunteering for this program, please contact us at our park office number, 770-443-7850, for more information.

Reminder that Saturday, August 2nd, 2025, the Friends of Pickett's Mill Battlefield will be hosting the Housewife! This program will be held at 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM in the visitor center, with a maximum of fifteen participants per session. Preregistration is recommended.
A "housewife" is a compact sewing kit that was popular among both men and women in the 18th and 19th centuries. In this program, visitors will have the opportunity to create their own and to learn basic stitches.
