🌼Creating a safe, welcoming place starts from the outside.

IT’S SUMMER ☀️
A season for family memories, sunshine, and fun photos…
But there’s a growing online safety concern parents need to know.
AI is being misused to turn everyday photos of children into harmful, fake images—without consent. This is happening across the country, and even teens are involved.
Any image shared online can be altered.
Protect what matters most:
• Think before posting
• Review privacy settings
• Start age-appropriate conversations about online safety early
💙 Let’s keep kids safe—both offline and online.

If a child trusts you enough to disclose abuse, be their voice, not their investigator. Follow these helpful tips on what to do if a child outcries to you. Always report suspected child abuse to 800-252-5400. How you respond matters.

We were happy to be invited back for another year of Primrose School of Rockwall's Annual Spring Fling! We had a great time reconnecting with families, meeting new faces, and celebrating our community together. We are grateful for partnerships like these. 💙Thank you, Primrose!

Parents, make mental health a family priority this month with Future Me Mapping. This activity is especially useful during adolescence, as teens begin to develop a healthy self-concept. Use these templates to practice goal setting and decision making together.
Aim for realistic planning, not perfectionism. When your child or teenager sets a goal and acts on it, they think "I am capable" - a core belief of a healthy self-concept. This activity can be completed with children of any age, simply adjust the goals to be age-appropriate.
Steps:
1) Help your child come up with 2–3 short-term goals (school, personal, social, etc.)
Discuss together:
Why each goal matters
What success looks like
2) Break each goal into:
Action steps (weekly actions)
Potential obstacles
Support needed
3) Create a visible tracker with due dates for each step.
Bonus questions to ask your child:
“What feels realistic to you?”
“What’s one small step you could try this week?”

May is Mental Health Awareness Month 💚
Here at the Children’s Advocacy Center, we believe mental health is just as important as physical health. Taking care of our mental well‑being helps us better care for ourselves, our families, and our community.
Self‑care looks different for everyone—whether it’s resting, connecting with someone you trust, spending time outside, or taking a moment to slow down.
What are some ways you take care of yourself?

Last night's Go Blue for Kids Business Supporter Appreciation Mixer was nothing short of remarkable. We are grateful to everyone who attended and made this event so special!
A highlight of the evening was when we received a surprise check presentation from our host, Cavender Nissan of Rockwall, in the amount of $8,750. It was a powerful reminder that when our community comes together, real change happens.
Words alone do not express how thankful we are for all of our Business Supporters that partnered with us in some way during the month of April. We hope last night's event provided a valuable opportunity to connect with fellow business leaders, strengthen community collaborations, and celebrate our shared dedication to child safety 💙 Want to partner or get involved for next year?
