🎆 4th of July Pet Safety Reminder 🐾

As we get ready to celebrate Independence Day, please remember that fireworks can be frightening for our four-legged family members. Every year, many pets become lost after being startled by loud noises.

Here are a few simple steps to help keep your dog safe this holiday:

🐶 Keep your dog indoors during fireworks, even if they usually stay outside.
🏠 Create a quiet, comfortable space inside your home where they can feel secure.
🎵 Turn on a TV, radio, or fan to help drown out the sound of fireworks.
🦴 Provide their favorite toys, treats, or a chew to help keep them occupied.
🦺 Make sure your dog’s collar fits properly and that ID tags are current. If your pet is microchipped, confirm that your contact information is up to date.
🚪 Keep doors, gates, and fences secure, and remind family members and guests to be extra careful when entering or leaving.
🚶 Exercise your dog earlier in the day before fireworks begin, and keep them on a leash while outdoors.

If your pet does go missing, contact your local animal control agency or animal shelter as soon as possible and share clear, recent photos on local lost-and-found pet pages.

A little preparation can make a big difference. Have a safe and happy 4th of July, and help keep all of our pets safe at home! 🇺🇸🐾

Uodate: his owner has been located!

This orange and white cutie was dropped off at our police department a little while ago. Apparently he hitched a ride from Craneville school on Park ave with a nice family who decided to bring him here.
