October is National Move Over Slow Down Month !

Every time we work along the roadway, our lives are on the line. Behind every tow truck, emergency vehicle, and roadside worker is a person with loved ones waiting for them to come home.

Your choices behind the wheel matter. A few seconds of caution could save a life. No call, destination, or distraction is worth putting someone’s life at risk.

This October, join us in spreading awareness, educating drivers, and protecting the people who work along our roadways. Slow down and move over—it could help make sure everyone gets to go home !

We are deeply saddened to share the news of the off-duty passing of Sergeant Tyler Carr from the Mansfield Post, who tragically lost his life in a traffic accident yesterday. A proud 1998 graduate of Smithville High School, Tyler served with dedication at the Orrville and Dalton Police Departments before joining the Ohio Highway Patrol in 2005. Our hearts and prayers go out to Sergeant Carr's family, his colleagues at the Mansfield Post, the Bucyrus District, and the entire Patrol family during this difficult time. We honor his service and commitment to the communities he served.

During Tuesday night's comprehensive fire training session, we conducted first-in engine operations in a simulated fire scenario on the second story of a building. This exercise involved a series of critical tasks designed to enhance our firefighting capabilities. Participants skillfully advanced hoses to combat the fire while executing coordinated fire-attack strategies. The training also included thorough implementation of incident command protocols to ensure efficient operation management, meticulous supply management to secure necessary resources, and precise pump operations to maintain adequate water pressure throughout the exercise. Each element emphasized teamwork and communication, creating a realistic, educational environment for everyone involved!
