On this Fathers Day 2026, Bennett’s Little Library sends out love to men who in some way shelter and care for others.
Whether it be children, pets, the environment, a friend, family member, or an acquaintance, all are father figures.
To recognize this special day Bennett’s Little Library has chosen the story of ET.
ET is a favorite of Bennett’s dad, as it portrays love, caring, compassion and acceptance of others. This being the message we wish to convey.
There are many examples in the story of ET showing us how we should take care of others, even when our own well being is at risk. One gets a feeling of great joy in seeing another’s needs and helping to comfort and guide them.
In this current world, where hate and fear have raised their ugly heads, let’s revisit the story of ET, and remind ourselves of the true meaning of love, friendship, and compassion.
Love is all there is.

Honoring all mothers on Mothers Day.
Especially Bennetts mother, Allison. A better example of a mom doesn't exist.
In recognizing the love she has for nature, and all living things, we have filled Bennetts library with books about endangered animals. A cause dear to Allison's heart and one that should also be dear to all of us. The current climate situation is making life increasingly difficult for so many creatures to survive. We have to be their spokesperson, and teach children the grave direction we are taking.
Please pick up a book and discuss with your child to make them aware of the steps they can take to turn this tragedy around. Endangered means there is still a chance, extinct means they are gone
May all women find peace today. We all mother in some fashion, so all are celebrated.

Today, March 10, 2026, marks 9 years since the birth of our beloved Bennett. We had very little time with him, physically here on earth, but our hearts, minds and beings are full of his presence.
As we spend the day celebrating, reflecting and yearning for him, we will be out in nature. That is where we always feel the closest to him. We will be looking for the signs of rebirth that the approaching spring is starting to show. Particularly the small insects and critters emerging to face this new season.
We are hoping our selection of books for this special day, which are about insects and the huge benefit they are to the ecosystem, will peak interest in observing their amazing reoccurrence each year.
Observing insects has been shown to improve the emotional well being in children, helping to lower anxiety, promote relaxation, and foster a positive mindset. Picture all the little ones trying to catch firefly’s!
The presence of butterflies, bees, and beetles contributes to the overall positive impact of nature on mental health.
In addition to the fact, without insects, there would be no us!
So take sometime to learn about these little guys habits and contributions in the books and the forest.
A great mental health activity for these trying times.
