Stokes County Sheriff’s Office Announces Arrest Following Drug Investigation in Westfield, NC
The Stokes County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigation Division (SID) has concluded an investigation resulting in the discovery of a ma*****na grow operation and a psilocybin mushroom cultivation site at a residence located at 1259 Horseshoe Road, Westfield, NC 27053.
SID detectives initiated the investigation after receiving information alleging that ma*****na was being cultivated at the property. To verify the complaint, detectives requested aerial assistance from the North Carolina State Highway Patrol (NCSHP) Aviation Unit. During the flyover, NCSHP personnel observed ma*****na plants growing on the premises, confirming the suspected criminal activity.
Following this determination, SID detectives executed a search warrant at the residence. Inside the home, investigators discovered an active psilocybin mushroom grow operation in addition to the ma*****na found on the property. In total, detectives seized approximately 17 pounds of ma*****na and 1.24 pounds of psilocybin mushrooms, with an estimated combined street value of $25,000.
