South Killingly Fire Department The South Killingly Fire Department exists to Protect the Citizens of the District from Emergencies The District is about 21 square miles.

The South Killingly Fire Department exists to Protect the Citizens of the District from Emergencies and Disasters through Fire Suppression, Emergency Medical Services, Hazardous Material Mitigation, Fire Prevention, and Public Education Programs.

The South Killingly Fire Department is volunteer and serves one of multiple fire districts in the town of Killingly.

As of 6:45PM on 9/26/26 SKFD has responded to the following locations for Tree/Wires down which may have resulted in lane and/or road closures. Please do not approach any power lines that are down and remain a safe distance away while contacting emergency responders.

This morning at 1:10AM crews from SKFD along with automatic aid companies were dispatched to a Structure Fire at 15 Fall Brook Park. Crews arrived to find a heavily involved mobile home with reports of occupants unaccounted for. An aggressive interior search & coordinated fire attack took place. Two victims were removed from the structure by firefighters but both were unfortunately pronounced deceased. The Killingly Fire Marshal’s Office in conjunction with the CT State Police FEIU are investigating. Our thoughts are with all those affected.

Congratulations to South Killingly EMT Calvin Vandale on his graduation from Killingly High.

Calvin has been a part of our organization since he was 14 years old and has grown up around the firehouse.

This fall, he’ll be attending Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University to study Aerospace Engineering while participating in Air Force ROTC.

Calvin, we’re proud of everything you’ve accomplished and look forward to seeing what you do next. Congratulations from your South Killingly family!
