ATTENTION WATERBALL TEAMS: The Dogwood Festival Waterball Competition has moved from Babcock Park to Allen St. just off of Maple St. between Rogers & Tenbrooks and Phoenix Hearth & Power.

This is to avoid overcrowding the park during multiple ball games and the carnival. Parking is available at either business parking lot. Please spread the word around.

Congratulations to Karlee Walker and Ty Schirmer for completing the NYS Interior Firefighting Operations course! This course is a major requirement to become an interior-qualified firefighter with the Dansville Fire Department and covers topics such as use of SCBA, interior firefighting tactics, forcible entry, and ventilation.

This course and its prerequisites represent a significant investment of time and effort and we appreciate the dedication of our newer members as they work through the initial firefighter training requirements.

Dansville firefighters and Junior firefighters took advantage of a unique training opportunity Wednesday night when Ryan Dale opened his building (the former St. Marys Catholic School) to us. Crews were able to drill on forcible entry, hose advancement, search and rescue, and apparatus placement.
We appreciate these opportunities to do something different and get some real-world practice in.
