📞 Continuing to Learn. Continuing to Serve.

This week, members of the Boone County 911 team attended the 2026 West Virginia 911 Telecommunicator Conference in Bridgeport, WV, joining 911 professionals from across the state for several days of training, education, networking, and professional development.

Pictured from left to right:

The technology, responsibilities, and challenges of emergency communications are constantly evolving. Continuing education opportunities like the WV 911 Conference allow our staff to learn from instructors, industry professionals, and fellow telecommunicators while bringing new knowledge, ideas, and best practices back home to Boone County.

When someone calls 911, they are often experiencing one of the most difficult or frightening moments of their life. The voice answering that call must be prepared to quickly gather critical information, provide appropriate guidance, coordinate emergency responders, and remain calm when every second matters.

That level of service requires more than simply answering a telephone—it requires training, education, experience, and an ongoing commitment to the profession.

Boone County 911 is committed to investing in our people and providing opportunities for our telecommunicators to continue developing their knowledge and skills. What our employees learn through opportunities like this is brought back and shared within our center, strengthening our entire team and helping us provide the best possible service to our citizens and first responders.

We are proud of these members of our team for investing in their profession and representing Boone County 911 at this year's conference.

Because when Boone County calls, we want to make sure trained professionals are ready to answer. 📞🚓🚒🚑
